Little Rita Rizzo grew up in a rough neighborhood in Canton, Ohio in the 1920's. It was a time filled with gangsters, thugs and profound poverty brought on by the Great Depression. Little Rita had a bleak and lonely life after her father abandoned her family when she was five.
But with the grace of God, Rita was able to rise above her difficult circumstances. God called her to become a Poor Clare nun, dedicating her life to Eucharistic Adoration. She went on to become Mother Mary Angelica once called the "most influential Catholic woman in the United States."
